Etam : Jose Gomez, ex-Mango, leading expansion into new markets

Published
Sep 16, 2015

Etam's biggest market is Europe, especially France, followed by China. The development of the French company consists of international expansion, with Latin America, the Middle East and North America the key markets it will start with.

Jose Gomez

To do so, the family-run group has created the position of Vice-President of Business Development. Jose Gomez, who has spent the last twelve years at Mango, has been chosen to fill the role. The executive will thus lead the development of the three chains: Etam, 1.2.3 and Undiz, excluding France and China. He will report directly to Laurent Milchior, the company's joint-manager.

In 2014, Etam counted a network of 4,122 retail points, with 2,935 in China and 724 in France. The stores in Europe (excluding France) and the international franchises accounted for, respectively, 219 and 244.

Jose Gomez worked at Bosser Fabrics from 1991 to 2000, in charge of exports but also with marketing and sales plans. He then joined Textil Santanderina, a Spanish textile-maker, where he was the Managing Director for the United States. At Mango, since 2004, he led the development strategy in new markets in North America, Latin America and the Middle East. A development that consisted mainly of franchises.
