Estée Lauder acquires Rodin Olio Lusso

Estée Lauder has acquired Rodin Olio Lusso, a high-end skincare brand founded in 2007 by Linda Rodin, who has long worked as a designer and model. 

The details of the acquisition, which is the US cosmetics group’s second this month following Labo, have not been disclosed.


The US company’s acquisition of Rodin Olio Lusso is its second this month.


The cosmetics brand markets premium, sensorial skincare products for all skin types and ages. 

It enjoys a fairly unique positioning in the subcategory of skin care oils, and has attracted a devoted following, especially among fashion connoisseurs. 

The brand’s success owes a good deal to its flagship product, a scented face oil composed of a combination of eleven essential oils derived from flowers and plants. 

The brand has subsequently used many of these same oils in other products, including hand and body creams, soaps, scented candles and a hair oil developed in partnership with renowned stylist Bob Recine. 

"With its luxurious product line and strong creative point of view, we believe it has the potential to be a high-growth global skin care brand that strategically enhances our portfolio," said Fabrizio Freda, President and CEO of Estée Lauder Company. 

The brand will be overseen by John Dempsey, Estée Lauder Companies’ Group President, who is responsible for a broad portfolio of brands: Estee Lauder, MAC, Tom Ford, Prescriptives, Bobbi Brown, Bumble and bumble, Jo Malone, La Mer and Smashbox.
