Dior taps Francesco Russo to oversee footwear
Dec 11, 2013
LVMH-owned Dior has tapped Italian designer Francesco Russo to head up footwear at the fashion house from autumn-winter 2014-2015. Russo left footwear brand Sergio Rossi in March 2013 after a five-year stint at the company.

The Istituto Marangoni graduate cut his teeth at labels Costume National, Miu Miu and Yves Saint Laurent before joining Kering brand Sergio Rossi. Last September, the designer launched his own footwear line, working out of a studio based in Paris.
Luxury brands are becoming more and more invested in their accessory offerings; in October, Louis Vuitton announced arrival of Darren Spaziani – the designer behind the Proenza Schouler it-bag, the PS1 - to spearhead a special line of high-end accessories.
