On September 5th, Desigual will send models down the runway at the Lincoln Center for New York Fashion Week for the first time. The fashion show coincides with the opening of the Spanish brand’s new store on New York’s Fifth Avenue.

Desigual recently took part in 080 Barcelona Fashion Week, where it presented several pieces that will also be included in the New York show. Items from the brand’s collaboration with Christian Lacroix will also feature.

Desigual is not the first Spanish brand to take part in New York Fashion Week. Del Pozo – designed by Josep Font – also participates in the event as well as Custo Barcelona.

The runway show and the store opening are steps towards reinforcing the company cross-Atlantic expansion. Desigual is currently available in 14 Bloomingdales concessions and at 1,200 multi-brand shops across the United States. In total, the clothing retailer counts 330 company-operated stores and 9000 points of sales across more than 100 countries.
