Denim by PV holding second Catalan edition

Having left Paris in May to hold its first edition in Barcelona, the denim industry event intends to capitalize on the excitement generated by the move on November 19 and 20.

This second Catalan edition, being held at the Fira Montjuïc, is set to welcome 97 denim exhibitors. It aims to attract more than 4,000 visitors, a significant increase as compared with the 3,200 present in Paris in November 2013.

The optimism seems justified in light of the success of the show’s spring edition. Some 4479 professionals attended the show’s first Catalan edition, translating into a 45% rise in attendance.

For this edition, the exhibitors will largely be Turkish (30%) and Italian (20%), but the event will also include companies from Spain (7%), Morocco (7%) and Tunisia (3%). Other nations represented: Japan, India, Pakistan, Hong Kong and Brazil.

In terms of products, 48% of exhibitors will be weavers and 22% will be manufacturers, launderers and finishers. Also present: accessories makers (20%), fiber producers (4%), and finally promotional organizations and technology developers (6%).

Following last edition’s casino theme, this edition will center on “gangs of denim”. Three factions will control exhibition turf, each embodying a different denim family. The range will include items from exhibitor’s spring-summer 2016 collections.

But one of the most significant new developments will be the presence of Ciff (Copenhagen International Fashion Fair), which will have its own area as part of the show. In exchange, meanwhile, Première Vision, will enjoy its own Urban area as part of CIFF’s 2015 event in Copenhagen.
