Coach spruces up visual merchandising

Published
Feb 28, 2013

Coach definitely wants to improve the look of its stores. The American leather goods company has just created the positions of executive vice president in charge of global environments and vice president, artistic director of global environments. The new managers will be in charge of all visual merchandising and store architecture, and will work with the brand’s retail network to create more consistency between products, the brand and store interiors.

Coach picked up its new talents at Selfridges and Nike. Zach Augustine was formerly global creative director – direct to consumer experience for Nike. He has held many positions in visual merchandising or as retail artistic director for Armani, Polo, Diesel, Nautica and Levi’s. From 2004 to 2011, he was artistic director of his own Winston agency that helped labels translate their brand’s identity in stores and showrooms. Erin Thompson worked twelve years at Mulberry before becoming head of visual merchandising at Selfridges in 2002. At Coach, she will be vice president, artistic director of global environments.
