Coach has a new president. The American luxury leatherwear company has looked to the hotel company Hyatt in making the new hire.

Gebhard Rainer, who has also been appointed COO, previously served as executive vice president and CFO of Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

He also has served as general manager of Hyatt International for the EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East and Africa). He has more 30 years experience in senior positions including CFO and COO, and has significant international experience.

Coach, whose sales have declined in the past year, has been looking for similarly profiled candidates as it makes an effort to return to growth.

"We expect that Gebhard's operational stewardship will be invaluable as we execute our long- term strategic plan to reinvigorate the Coach brand and return to best-in-class profitability,” said CEO Victor Luis.

Rainer will start Coach on September 29.

In his new position (which has been left vacant since September 2013), he will be responsible for finances, information systems, logistics, operations and production, according to a company statement.
