Coach could be looking to bag another brand

Rapid growth seems to be the current preoccupation at Coach. Shortly after taking full control of its activity in Europe, the American group is reportedly looking to acquire an accessories brand to help push growth.
Until now Coach has been focused on organic growth, choosing to develop its product lines internally. According to the Wall Street Journal, this could all be changing. The American publication, citing internal sources, says that the company is considering the acquisition of an accessories brand in order to jump-start growth and leverage its supply-chain expertise.
The group is said to have approached fellow American Tory Burch last year on the basis of an acquisition in the range of 2 and 3 billion dollars. Coach recently spoke of a possible sale of Reed Krakoff, which would support speculation that Coach is looking to acquire.
For the company’s last quarter, closed end of March, Coach reported revenue of 1.19 billion dollars, which translates as an increase of 7% on the same period for the previous year.
