Clariant relocates to Asia

Oct 18, 2010

The Swiss specialist for products and dyes for the textile industry announces the move of its Textile Chemicals unit to Asia, with a headquarters in Singapore. The transfer should be made by Summer 2011. The intention of the group’s move is to get closer to its customers.

"Singapore is the optimal location through which we can serve key global textile markets such as India, China, and Southeast Asia," says Thomas Winkler, head of Clariant Textile Chemicals Business Units. “Meanwhile, Europe remains an important market for Clariant and our customers from the European textile industry will continue to be served by our well established dedicated infrastructure in the region."

The laboratory dedicated to technical textiles and finishing will be relocated to Muttenz near Basel, where the unit dedicated to Europe employs about sixty sales and marketing people.
