Carol Lim and Humberto Leon design for Kenzo Kids

The Zannier group - long term licensing partner for Kenzo children’s wear - is launching a new line for Spring-Summer 2013, on top of its existing collection created by Zannier’s the internal design studio. Under the name ‘Kenzo By’, the new children’s collection will come straight from Carol Lim and Humberto Leon at Kenzo’s design studio. The pair are both Creative Directors for the brand and founders of Opening Ceremony.

The designs are based on the label’s runway show

Though Zannier’s Kenzo Kids collections are given the seal of approval by the pair, the two designers are creating an additional line directly inspired by their creations that walk the Kenzo ready-to-wear runway. Amongst the pieces for girls are a primary-coloured parachute dress and a dress with a fun elephant print instead of the usual combo of parrots and tigers. Much like the ready-to-wear collections, the American design duo has kept the brands jungle-inspired theme but has managed to subtlety give the collection a contemporary feel.

Kenzo By is available Kenzo Kids store and concessions

Kenzo Kids is not the first licensing deal to benefit from designs straight from the Kenzo studio. You will be soon be able to have a touch of Kenzo print in your interior design thanks to a Runway collection for homes, in partnership with Yves Delorme.

Managing director of Kenzo, Eric Marechalle, is very familiar with the Zannier group after heading various brand partnership during his ten-year-stint at the company before being recruited by LVMH in 2011.
