The new EU-focused shop will be a standardized English-language platform, which will show prices in euros, regardless of the local currency. The online store will become available to customers in Croatia, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary, countries where C&A already operates physical stores. In addition, the shop will also target Denmark, Finland, Greece and Sweden, where the online store will be the only C&A point of sale.

Dr. Andreas Hammer, Director e-commerce Europe at C&A, said in a press release: “This additional [EU] online shop is the next big step in the expansion of our online activities.” With the additional e-commerce platform C&A doubles its reach from nine to twenty countries.

At the moment, C&A online operates in nine markets, which are all published in the national language, including: Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Spain and Switzerland.

C&A has more than 1500 stores in 18 European countries and employs about 35,000 people. In addition to Europe, the retailer has stores in Brazil, Mexico and China.
