Burberry tops Instagram UK brand ranking
Burberry has been named Britain’s most popular brand on Instagram for the second year running, but the luxury retailer’s follower numbers are dwarfed by its international competitors.
Burberry ranked first in Iconosquare’s second annual British brands report with 10.4 million followers, followed by Topshop with 9.2 million and Jimmy Choo with 7.3 million.
Asos and Jaguar rounded up the top five with 6.6 million and 5.5 million followers on Instagram respectively.
But Britain’s fashion powerhouses have plenty of room to grow, with the world’s most popular fashion brands on Instagram boasting far more followers. According to Iconosquare, Nike has 75.2 million followers, seven times as many as Burberry, while Victoria’s Secret has 57.7 million followers and Chanel 25 million.

The top ten most popular British brands on Instagram have all been able to successfully promote aspirational lifestyles to a wide audience of people and will reap rewards this holiday season.

The ranking of the top ten most popular British brands on Instagram also included Alexander McQueen, Aston Martin, Bentley, Stella McCartney and Rolls-Royce.
