British Fashion Awards:
Christopher Bailey, JW Anderson and Paul Smith among the nominees
The British Fashion Council announced on Monday the list of nominees for its famous awards, which will be handed out on 1 December.
In total, 13 awards will be given out. There are three nominees in every category but one, Menswear Designer, in which the British are well represented with Christopher Bailey, JW Anderson, Paul Smith, and Tom Ford as the fourth nominee. As for British women, and the Brits in general, they rule the Designer Brand nominations, with Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham and Alexander McQueen.
But renowned for unearthing future greats and confirming established stars, fashion specialists will have their eyes on the Emerging Womenswear Designer and Emerging Menswear Designer categories with, respectively, 1205, Marques’Almeida and Thomas Tait, and Astrid Andersen, Craig Green and Lee Roach.
The other categories are Emerging Accessory Designer with Fernando Jorge, Prism and Yunus & Eliza, New Establishment Designer with Emilia Wickstead, Peter Pilotto and Simone Rocha, Establishment Designer with Margaret Howell, Preen and Roland Mouret, Womenswear Designer with Christopher Kane, Erdem and J.W. Anderson, Accessory Designer with Anya Hindmarch, Charlotte Olympia and Nicholas Kirkwood, International Designer with Hedi Slimane for Saint Laurent, Nicolas Ghesquière for Louis Vuitton and Raf Simons, Red Carpet Designer with Alexander McQueen, Mary Katrantzou and Roksanda, Designer Brand with Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham, and finally the Best Model category with Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Sam Rollinson.
