Asos reveals winners of Fashion Discovery competition
Asos has revealed the two emerging fashion brands that have won the first ever Fashion Discovery competition. Over 600 brands applied for the programme, which launched this year as a platform to nurture emerging talent.
Luxury lingerie label Elissa Poppy and womenswear brand Hanger have been selected for their originality, commercial strength and entrepreneurial flair by a panel of nine judges, including ASOS CEO Nick Beighton, I-D magazine fashion editor Julia Sarr-Jamois and Wonderland magazine creative director Andrew Davis.
They will be given a grant of £50,000 each to grow their businesses, along with 50 hours of mentoring split across 5 business functions: retail, marketing, finance, legal and sourcing. Additionally, and edit of their collections will be sold on Asos.com for three consecutive seasons.
The competition was only open to UK registered companies.
