With the acquisition of the brand’s distribution rights, the group will begin rolling out Anya Hindmarch boutiques within major department stores in the second half of the year.

The UK handbag label, known for its unique craftsmanship and outstanding designs, will provide South Korea with a fun and colourful approach to accessories inspired by a pop aesthetic.

The London designer said she was pleased to have found a partner with the reputation and know-how of Shinsegae International.

Since its launch in 1987, Anya Hindmarch has grown into a global brand with over 45 stores, including flagships in New York, London and Tokyo. In Korea, the company was present through the specialty store BoonTheShop.

As well as retail boutiques, the label holds seasonal pop-ups offering a taste of the retail experience and houses Bespoke stores where customers can have their drawings or handwritting embossed.

Anya Hindmarch’s latests pop-up installation at Matsuya Ginza, Tokyo, closed its doors on 12 April.
