Running from 16-19 September and coinciding with London Fashion Week, the next edition of Contemporary Curated with Sotheby’s London will showcase Anya’s fresh and innovative selection of hand-picked works.

Choosing pieces that inspire her both as a designer and an art-collector, she presents a range of artworks by both established and emerging artists, including Ai Weiwei, Keith Haring, Yayoi Kusama and Tracy Emin.

“I think what really drives a great art collector is passion, you’ve got to love it and the impulse has got to be authentic. I know when I see a beautiful piece or something that affects me I can’t not have it,” says the designer.

Anya Hindmarch is a trustee of both the Royal Academy of Arts and the Design Museum. Her passion for the arts can be found on everything that she does, including her beautifully constructed handbags and creative interpretations of cultural and Pop Art symbols.

The auction itself will be held on 20 September.

Anya Hindmarch follows in the footsteps of London-based designer Erdem Moralioglu, who curated a number of works for the Contemporary Curated series in February this year.
