Adidas and Pharrell Williams launch tennis campaign in NYC

Published
Aug 28, 2017

Adidas and Pharrell Williams have launched a disruptive men's and women's tennis collection and campaign called "Don't Be Quiet Please."

Twitter @AdidasNYC

The collection includes apparel and footwear designed to look at tennis from a new perspective. Classic tennis whites are updated with bold accent colors of orange, red and blue. The collection includes polos, jackets and shorts for men and dresses and tops for women. It is Williams' first performance apparel collaboration with Adidas.

The new collection is designed to speak to a new market of tennis players while the US Open is being played in NY. According to the collection's manifesto which is written by Williams, "Every tennis match starts with the same two words: 'Quiet Please.' But change can be noisy and our love can transform anything."

The "Don't Be Quiet Please" campaign launched this weekend in partnership with Adidas' store on 5th Avenue. Williams, Stan Smith and several of Adidas' tennis athletes attended events designed to promote the new campaign and collection.

In support of the launch, Adidas held a tennis clinic in Harlem over the weekend where it also announced a court revitalization project with Williams. Williams delivered the collection's complete manifesto which continued, "Outside the court we will let our voices be heard as loud as we can. If you see the potential for good, speak up. Together, we can change the game for the better." Adidas has also released a video clip featuring Williams and others urging viewers to speak up for good causes.

Adidas has set up ten activations across NYC to support the launch. The activations are centered around tall tennis umpire chairs. Locations include the West Village, Herald Square and Harlem.

The full collection is available August 31st at Adidas stores and online, at Williams' Billionaire Boys Club flagships, and also select retailers across the country.
