Joanna Rogers will be the new vice-president for beauty at Zalando from March 1. She joins the German e-tailer from Wallgreens Boots Alliance, the retail chain for which she had been in charge of the beauty category in the UK since 2016.

Rogers has “succeeded in transforming Wallgreens Boots Alliance in a premier beauty shopping destination, by developing an innovative customer proposition and attracting many premium beauty brands” said Zalando in a press release.

She will report to Boris Ewenstein, Zalando’s senior vice-president of supply.

“Joanna’s experience, network and beauty insights will drive our growth in the category, which remains a strategic priority for Zalando. Our goal is to mirror our extensive fashion assortment in Beauty, and to further roll out the category internationally,” stated the e-tailer.

Zalando launched the beauty category in Germany in 2018. The segment was later introduced in Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, France and Italy. Zalando Beauty currently sells 15,000 items from 370 brands.
