Published
Oct 10, 2012

Yoox has just opened a Chinese-language e-shop for the Chinese market two years after its first foray in the sector with subcontracted e-shops for Armani, Bally, Dolce & Gabbana and its upscale e-shop thecorner.cn, inaugurated last year. Based in Shanghai, Yoox's logistics structure will enable it to respond to the growing demand in the Chinese market, which come 2013 will rank among the world's top three luxury online consumer markets, according to a study by Boston Consulting Group. FedEx delivers for Yoox in 400 cities across the country. Yoox will offer exchanges and returns payable in yuan.

Yoox's latest creation for online merchandising, Speak & Shop, uses voice recognition technology. Customers can search for an item and color by saying out loud what they are looking for, in addition to whatever they type into their device — and all in Mandarin. The website sorts out all the input and offers only results based on with the customer's wishes.
