Yahoo’s 2016 Year in Review includes lots of fashion

Yahoo announced on Tuesday its annual 2016 Year in Review report, which offers a detailed look into what intrigued online users worldwide throughout the year. Based on interactions with Yahoo, Polyvore, Flickr and Tumblr, the list includes items that captivated the world such as the presidential election, celebrity break-ups, the Olympics, as well as the latest fashions.
 
Based on interactions with Polyvore, the athleisure trend reigned supreme this year on Polyvore’s Top Fashion Must-Haves list. Top fashion must-haves included style staples like Adidas Superstars, Nike Air Max Theas and bomber jackets. Formalwear was also a big hit with items like cape dresses and gatsby dresses making the top ten list.
 

Kylie Jenner, followed by Rihanna and Kendall Jenner, were named Polyvore’s Top Female Fashion Icons of 2016. Meanwhile, on the men’s side, Harry Styles toped Polyvore’s Top Male Fashion Icons list for the second year, beating out Justin Bieber for the number one spot and Drake who came in at number three.
 
As for Polyvore's Most Popular Designers, luxury designers like Gucci, Chanel, Valentino, Fendi and Givenchy came out on top in 2016.  

On the beauty side, searches for nude lipstick increased 553 percent and matte lipstick increased 267 percent. Brands such as Urban Decay, Bath & Body Works and MAC made the Most Popular Beauty Brands list.
