White Company CEO leaves for Wiggle role as sports specialist eyes expansion

Will Kernan is leaving his position as chief executive at British womenswear and homewares retailer The White Company to join online sportswear specialist Wiggle.

Wiggle is a UK-based online retailer of cycle, run, swim, triathlon and outdoor products with offices in Portsmouth, Wolverhampton, Taipei and Sydney. The company was launched in 1999 and has now more than 350 employees worldwide. It hopes to become a leading sports e-commerce retailer. as the market for sports-linked product grows fast.

Kernan spent five years at The White Company. Prior to that, he held several roles at New Look, including group managing director and chief operating officer.

The White Company said the search for a replacement has already begun. The lifestyle company, launched in 1994 as a bedlinen retailer, operates across home accessories, clothing and childrenswear.

It plans to introduce this year its first ever skincare range and open a flagship store in New York in the summer, according to a spokesperson.
