Westfield announces multimillion investment into The Village

The appetite for luxury fashion isn't slowing down at Westfield London, which has just revealed that it will make a multimillion investment into its luxury shopping area The Village.

Global luxury spend rose 7% in 2014 and it represented annual sales of £10.1bn in the personal luxury goods market in London alone.

The Village will now get an expansion and a number of new luxury brands. Versace is increasing its presence with three stores in Westfield London, two of them in The Village: Versace and Versus Versace. This is the first permanent Versus Versace store in the UK and it will open this month.

Sandro, Jigsaw, Zadig and Voltaire and Claudie Pierlot are opening new stores in The Village, and Whistles will open an enlarged new store later this year. Georg Jensen is also launching a store in The Village this month.

The Village was the first luxury offer inside a shopping centre in the UK and has proved popular, attracting over 100 million visitors since opening in 2008.
