We Are Pop Up closes down

In 2012, pop-up space provider We Are Pop Up launched, with the aim of making retail property in London easier to rent. Now the company has had to close down, as it couldn't secure the funding needed to grow.
Co-founder Nicholas Russell said of the company's users: "You are creative brands who share shops. Multinational companies and upstart entrepreneurs. People with the power to make things better. Empty space is just a starting point – a canvas – for you to shape the world. From a humble start with our first space in Shoreditch, you’ve taken We Are Pop Up to 25 countries."
The company closed down on April 12, but customers who have made bookings with We Are Pop Up will see their bookings honoured.
Meanwhile, another London-based pop-up company, Appear Here, recently announced that it has launched in Paris.
Last year, a report from Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) revealed that pop-ups were worth £2.3bn to the UK economy and accounted for 0.76% of total UK retail turnover. Total turnover in the sector grew by 12.3% in 2015, compared with the previous 12 months.
