Walmart partners with Kidbox for online kid's style box service

Walmart has partnered with subscription-based children's clothing start-up Kidbox to launch a curated kid's style box service on Walmart.com, marking the retail giant's first kid's apparel subscription service.

The new Walmart Kidbox offering will give the retailer's e-customers access to personalized assortments from over 120 children's brands, including BCBG, Butter Super Soft, C&C California and Puma. Offering sizes 0 to 14 for girls and 0 to 16 for boys, the style box will include four to five items for $48, approximately 50% off the suggested retail price for the group of bundled items, the company said. 

To order, customers must visit Walmart.com and complete a style quiz for their child, which will be used to create a customized box offering based on the child’s style preferences, as well as the season and where the child lives.

“Over the last year, we have significantly expanded our portfolio of kid's fashion brands as part of our broader effort to establish Walmart.com as a destination for fashion," said Denise Incandela, head of fashion for Walmart U.S. e-commerce. "Our partnership with Kidbox enables us to round out our offering with additional national and premium kid's brands.”

Users can order a box and schedule delivery on demand, or opt for automatic shipments of up to six boxes a year, which are timed to seasons, back-to-school and holiday.

For every Walmart style box purchased, Kidbox will clothe a child in need through its partnership with Delivering Good.

Outside of its new Kidbox offering, Walmart.com currently carries a variety of children's fashion brands, including Betsey Johnson, Kapital K, Levi’s, Limited Too and The Children’s Place.
