Swiss eyewear specialist Viu is set to open its second store in the UK as it continues to transition from an online pureplay to a multichannel retailer.

Viu eyewear is made using Italian Acetate, robust Japanese Titanium and 3D-printing technology. Consumers can order up to four frames to take home and try out free of charge before making a purchasing decision.

The brand said the new 1,700 sq ft store at 70-72 Marylebone Lane will be the largest to date, and follows the success of its Soho shop which recently opened.

In total, Viu has 53 stores in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Scandinavia.

Jenny Casebourne, retail & leisure director at The Howard de Walden Estate, commented: “Viu is a perfect example of a retailer - that was originally an online ‘pureplay’ brand - expanding its business into physical retailing as part of its long-term growth plans.

“It is joining a tremendous group of brands on Marylebone Lane including Koibird, YaccoMaricard and VV Rouleaux which are complemented by great places to eat and drink such as Delamina, 108 Brasserie and Le Relais de Venise.”

Kilian Wagner, CEO & co-founder at Viu eyewear, added: “The Marylebone store will be our largest to date, and marks an important step in expanding our store network as we work to fulfil our mission to shape the future of eyewear.”

Viu was founded in Zurich, Switzerland in 2013.
