Vietnam: a 16% increase in textile exports this year

The Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) has announced that it is expecting 25 billion dollars in textile and apparel exports in 2014. A level that will mark a 16% increase compared to 2013.

These forecasts are based on the good results met by the local subsidiary in the first nine months of the financial year. The three quarters allowed the country to export 17.2 billion dollars worth of textile and apparel products, up 19%.

Vietnam is the European Union's 7th biggest supplier in terms of apparel, with 2.3 billion dollars of goods imported by the continent in 2013 (+3%). But the main customer is still the United States, with 7.8 billion dollars of goods (+14.2%), or 43% of the total apparel exports.
