While the company ended its 2010 first half with 213 million Euros in turnover, it presents a positive balance of investments carried out last year on its denim and indigo denim business. But the Brazilian textile company now intends to boost its domestic production capacity.

The company announces an investment of 110 million Euros over the next three years to modernise its production sites in north-west Brazil. Some 40 million Euros will be spent this year. In those same three years, the Ecuadorian subsidiary ‘The International‘ will receive 30 million Euros to double its production capacity.

But the company will primarily invest 160 million Euros in building a new production centre. This will take place in Cuiaba, the capital of Mato Grosso, to include the manufacturing of spinning, dyeing, weaving and finishing. The production is expected to deal with 65,000 tons of cotton per year in order to produce 75 million metres of denim. The site will create 2,000 jobs directly and 6,000 jobs indirectly.
