Shop Direct’s VeryExclusive.co.uk is moving into the premium menswear market with men’s clothing, footwear and accessories from brands such as Kenzo, Whistles and Hackett now available on the site.

In total, the online retailer’s menswear offer includes autumn winter 2016 collections from 25 brands, including the likes of PS by Paul Smith and Vivienne Westwood. The mix targets 26 to 45 year-old aspirational males, a high number of whom already shop with Shop Direct’s flagship brand Very.co.uk.

Sarah Curran, managing director of VeryExclusive.co.uk, said: “We’re delighted to be launching our menswear offer with such a covetable range of brands. The appeal of VeryExclusive.co.uk is that we give women access to brands they may not otherwise be able to shop. And we know from months of market research that there’s an aspirational male customer who is crying out for us to do the same across men’s clothing, footwear and accessories.”

“Launching menswear on VeryExclusive.co.uk will enable us to democratise luxury for men as well as women. Men want the option to buy into premium brands as much as women and this will bring some of their favourite labels within reach,” added Alex Baldock, CEO. “For spring summer 2017, we’ll be upping our roster of menswear brands to 35 and look forward to seeing the reaction from our customers.”

Shop Direct also announced it is in advanced talks with a concession partner, marking the start of a new era for the company.

“We’re also excited to be in advanced talks with brands keen to work with us on a concession model. Alongside our wholesale proposition, we see this as a huge opportunity,” said Sarah Curran.

The company plans to reveal its first concession brand “very soon”.
