Versace to show in Los Angeles in March

The United States is attracting luxury houses more than ever. While Chanel has just flown to Miami, where it showed its 2022/23 cruise collection on Friday, November 4, Versace announced that it will hold a show on March 10 in Los Angeles to unveil its women's and men's fall-winter 2022/23 collection.

The event will be held two days before the Oscars ceremony. Three months after Hedi Slimane's show for Celine, who also chose the City of Angels to present his collection for next winter. "For me, Hollywood is both a place and a state of mind. It's about storytelling and magic, power and vulnerability, creativity and emotional expression. It's a perfect place for Versace. I can't wait to go back," says the Italian fashion house's creative director, Donatella Versace, in a brief statement.

Beyond Celine and Versace, Los Angeles has also recently seduced Kim Jones, who presented his men's spring 2023 collection for Dior in the city, as well as Gucci, which organized a "Love Parade" dedicated to spring-summer, taking over Hollywood Boulevard in November 2021. Tom Ford also chose Los Angeles to coincide with the Oscars in February 2020, and Hedi Slimane organized his last show there, for Saint Laurent in April 2019.

A flurry of shows in American territory, in addition to the two shows organized at New York Fashion Week last September by two other Italian labels, namely Fendi and Marni.

For Versace, this destination seems quite natural. With its sexy and glamorous silhouettes, the brand is a regular on red carpets and has always counted Hollywood celebrities among its important clients. Above all, since 2018, the brand is owned by the American giant Capri Holdings, the former Michael Kors Group, which since 2017, also controls the high-end shoe maker Jimmy Choo.
