For the collection, Whack’s creative vision blends a radical take on 1980s style with key elements of Vans brand heritage that inspire self-expression. It includes a mix of colors, shapes, patterns, and phrases that explore creativity and offers a sense of play.

The footwear collection is led by The Vans x Tierra Whack Old Skool and Style 36. The Old Skool, which was first released as part of a promotional run of shoes that Tierra created for her fans during in 2019, features oversized and multicoloured “Whack” stamped on the quarter, echoed on the sidewall which reads “Weird Hype And Creative Kids”.

Likewise, the Style 36 pairs a soft eco-suede classic white upper with pops of blue on the sidewall and oversized puffy laces looping through the collection’s signature “Weird Hype And Creative Kids” eyelets.

Next, the Vans x Tierra Whack Half Cab provides Whack’s own spin on the Vans Classic, including Vans checkerboards in shades of yellow, green, red, black and white and features a soft eco-suede upper and a rubberized checkerboard toe cap. The collection’s Half Cab comes complete with a secondary oversized green fuzzy lace and eyelets that also read “Weird Hype And Creative Kids.”

Finally, the Vans x Tierra Whack Standard Snow MTE, offers a vibrant Cyber Yellow in a weather-ready style, adapted from Vans’ ‘Made for the Elements’ line.

A selection of apparel curated by Whack and Kurata complements the collection featuring styles including the Vans x Tierra Whack Twofer, a heavy cotton ringer tee, as well as a Vans Authentic Chino with wide cuffed hems, a packable puffer vest and a reversible cotton ripstop bucket hat rounds out the collection.

“It was an amazing experience to be able to take what I do with music and apply it to fashion,” said Whack. “Making music is all about collaboration and it was great to work with Shirley and with Vans to give people a collection they can feel free in.”
