Vans and Opening Ceremony launch first global collection

Published

Vans and Opening Ceremony are once again joining forces for the debut of a global collection of footwear, apparel and accessories.

For the collection, set to launch later this month, Opening Ceremony reinvented Vans’ iconic checkerboard print into two abstract snake and leopard patterns, which will be featured on Vans’ original deck shoe, the Authentic.

Meanwhile, a second footwear option takes a monochromatic approach with the Authentic QLT launching in orchid and baja blue, with a quilted finish.

The all-over repeat pattern can also be found on an assortment of apparel, including a track suit-inspired jacket that includes a front zipper closure, toggle fasteners and a hidden hood, and a pair of pants, which boasts a relaxed fit with welt pockets and a zipper flap.

Rounding out the collection is a leopard printed tote that is filled with soft padding, emblazoned with a novelty rubber Vans x OC patch.

"Vans has been a long-time creative partner of ours, and we're so excited to collaborate on their iconic print this season,” said Opening Ceremony creative director, Humberto Leon, in a news statement.

The classic California skate brand has been collaborating with Opening Ceremony since 2014, when they first teamed up to launch a collection of Glitter sneakers.

The Vans x Opening Ceremony collection will be available worldwide on vans.ca, Vans retail locations and at select wholesale partners on February 19.
