Urban Outfitters announces management changes at Anthropologie

Published
Apr 24, 2019

Philadelphia-based Urban Outfitters Inc, which operates the Anthropologie, BHLDN, Free People, Terrain and Urban Outfitters brands, has announced two personnel changes at Anthropologie.

Hillary Super, Anthropologie’s new global president - Anthropologie

Andrew Carnie, president of home, garden and international at the Anthropologie Group, will step down as of April 26 to return to his home in the United Kingdom. According to Richard A. Hayne, CEO and chairman of Urban Outfitters Inc, during Carnie’s six-year tenure Anthropologie saw its home category sales double, launched a successful home wholesale business, and opened its first two stores in continental Europe.

Meanwhile, Hillary Super, who has been with the brand for two years and most recently served as co-president of Anthropologie Group, has been promoted to the role of Anthropologie’s global president.

In her new role, she will continue to maintain her current responsibilities overseeing the women’s apparel and accessories categories and the BHLDN bridal business, and will assume oversight of the business segments previously reporting to Carnie.

Among her most recent accomplishments, Super helped lead Anthropologie’s launch of A Plus, the brand’s first line of plus-sized apparel.

This past March, Urban Outfitters closed out a successful year with a net income for the fourth quarter ended January 31, 2019 of $86.4 million compared to $1.3 million in the prior-year period, in addition to record quarterly earnings per share (EPS) of $0.80 that exceeded Wall Street estimates.
