The addition of Campbell brings the size of the board to 11 and further expands the digital marketing expertise that resides on it.

Campbell is currently president, at Peacock. Prior to this role, she served as president and chief marketing officer of Hulu where she is credited for accelerating the service’s growth and momentum. Before Hulu, Campbell spent more than a decade at Google in a variety of leadership and marketing roles across the Google Ads and Google Cloud businesses.

“We are delighted to have Kelly Campbell join our Board as an independent director,” said Richard A. Hayne, chairman of Urban Outfitters Inc. “She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience about marketing and subscription businesses which will help inform our digital strategies.”

Urban Outfitters Inc.'s portfolio of global consumer brands includes Anthropologie, BHLDN, Free People, FP Movement, Terrain, Urban Outfitters, Nuuly and Menus & Venues brands. It currently runs more than 670 stores in the U.S., Canada and Europe, under the names Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and Free People.

In November, the retailer reported a year-over-year increase of 16.7 percent in its third-quarter net sales and a 14.6 percent rise compared to the same period two years ago, as online growth offset in-store declines.

Year-to-date, Urban Outfitters reported net sales of $3.22 billion, up 36.2 percent from $2.36 billion in the same nine-month period in the previous year and 14.3 percent from $2.8 billion two years ago.
