Unmade partners with Avery Dennison to unlock on-demand fashion production

London start-up Unmade has announced a partnership with Avery Dennison, a global leader in innovative materials science, branding and manufacturing.

Unmade, a British fashion software company which limits waste by manufacturing on demand, said the innovation partnership will unlock new opportunities for on-demand fashion.

The companies will be working together to further advance the industry’s move to an on-demand fashion supply chain model, which is faster and more efficient than the existing mass-produced system.

Focusing initially on the sportswear industry, Unmade will provide the software and Avery Dennison the manufacturing to create an end-to-end customisation and personalisation engine. More segments of the industry where customisation and personalisation are driving consumer demand could be added in the future.

“Combining Unmade's innovative technology with our digital manufacturing platforms will create a scalable platform that brands can use to help consumers customise a truly unique garment. This technology is a significant step forward in creating an on-demand supply chain that produces what is needed, when it is needed, reducing inventory and waste across the supply chain.”

The partnership between the two innovators is set to fully launch in Autumn 2019, resulting in several Avery Dennison facilities benefiting from an on-demand, end-to-end customisation engine.
