The clothing company said the opening marks an important step in its UK expansion, after opening a store at Bluewater in Kent and Westgate in Oxford in 2010 and 2017, respectively.

The brand has also several stores in London, including a massive flagship store on Oxford Street where it revealed a new conceptual sales area dedicated to its LifeWear philosophy and collections.

Due to open in the spring of 2019, the Manchester store will occupy a space of 2,108 square metres and feature a total sales floor of 1,370 square metres. It will sell the brand’s full range of core items for men, women and kids, including the HeatTech, cashmere, AIRism and Ultra Light Down ranges, as well as jeans and t-shirts.

“The launch of Uniqlo in Manchester represents another major milestone for us in the UK, as we continue to expand our presence in this important market for the company worldwide. We are very excited to be able to offer Uniqlo LifeWear to the people of Manchester and surrounding areas for the first time and show how our high quality, comfortable and functional clothing can help improve their everyday lives,” commented Taku Morikawa, chief executive officer of Uniqlo Europe.
