Umbro has a good start to the year

Published

For the next five seasons, PSV Eindhoven, Dutch football champion, will be sporting an Umbro uniform. Under the banner of American group Iconix, the British kit supplier has reworked its economic model since its purchase by Nike in 2012. It works with licensed partners on its different markets.

The brand seems to have found its place since Neil Cole, CEO of Iconix, has revealed that for its first quarter, Umbro recorded a 20% increase in its sales. And although he stated that he isn't sure the brand will maintain the same performance throughout the year, the signs are encouraging. He also said that the British brand still has great growth opportunities, in particular on the Chinese market.
