UK-based lingerie brand Bravissimo launches US webstore
UK-based lingerie retailer Bravissimo announced on Tuesday its entrance into the US market with the launch of its first US website.
Founded by Sarah Tremellen in 1995, Bravissimo offers bras and swimwear in sizes D through L and D through K, respectively. Tremellen was inspired to launch the line when she found it difficult to find a well-fitting bra during pregnancy.
What began in Tremellen’s living room has expanded to a lucrative business that operates 28 shops in the UK, a UK webstore and mail order service. In addition, Bravissimo has a turnover in excess of $60 million.
“Finding a choice of bras, swimwear and clothes that fit properly, set in an environment that is inclusive and celebratory, can be life-changing for women for bigger boobs,” said Tremellen. “That might sound dramatic, but we hear from women all the time who tell us that finding Bravissimo has transformed the way they feel about themselves.”
Bravissimo decided to enter the US market after receiving hundreds of requests to launch the brand in the states. The brand plans to open a US retail location as well, but it has not confirmed timing.
“Our aim is to provide our customers with a wide choice of lovely lingerie, swimwear and clothing and an environment to inspire them to feel fantastic,” said Tremellen. “We know that the choice of bras available in bigger cup sizes is limited in the US, and that there are many, many women in the US who are D cup or above, so we are very excited to be bringing Bravissimo to the big boobed women of the USA. Our US website is only the beginning - we can't wait to get to know our American customers better and we plan to open our first store in the USA as soon as we can."
