The pop-up is part of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC)'s "Made in NY"-initiative, and is backed by the New York City Mayor's Office.

NJAL says: "It will be a large-scale showcase of New York City’s creative class and their locally designed and manufactured fashion products to strengthen and support the diversity of its design and manufacturing sectors."

Any Not Just A Label designer whose business is headquartered in one of New York's five boroughs, and whose products have been manufactured within the five boroughs, can apply to take part in the pop-up. There is no fee to participate and brands receive 95% from the retail price; 5% will go to NJAL to cover bank fees.

The store will be open to the public from Friday, December 4th through Sunday, December 14th 2015. "Not Just A Label | Made in NY will develop and operate as a large-scale, temporary retail store, compromised entirely of NJAL’s prolific community of New York-based design talent, and their locally designed and produced garments and accessories, alongside a curated program of workshops and panel discussions around pertinent industry topics," NJAL stated.
