UK's JD Sports opens second largest in-town store

JD Sports, the British sportswear giant, has completed the redevelopment of its 54-58 Northumberland Street store in Newcastle.

The store took 12 months to make and is "an amalgamation of the former HMV and JD Sports existing adjacent unit," the retailer said. It measures 45,000 sqft. and is the company's second largest JD Sports in-town store.

The largest is JD Sports' new Oxford Street East store, which opened at the beginning of July. JD Sports has 850 stores in total, most of which are in the UK.
