UK's JD Sports expands in Sweden

JD Sports, the UK sportswear giant, is expanding in Sweden, where it is opening its second store this autumn.

The store will be located in Kista Galleria, one of the biggest shopping malls in Stockholm, on its Fashion Boulevard. It will measure 771 sqm.

"JD Sports has a broad, attractive selection of sports shoes and street fashion that suits Kista Galleria's target group very well," says Magnus Åkesson, regional director of Nordic shopping centre company Citycon. "As a large shopping centre it's important for us to offer international brands, and that makes it feel extra exciting that this is JD Sport's second Swedish store."

JD Sports is currently trading well in the UK, where its sales have received a boost from the Euro 2016 soccer tournament in France.
