Trussardi: Designers Serhat Isik and Benjamin A. Huseby leave the creative direction

After the resignation of the board of directors and the departure of CEO Sebastian Suhl last month, designers Serhat Isik and Benjamin Alexander Huseby have also reportedly jumped ship. While the Italian luxury label, which has been 60% owned by the QuattroR fund since 2019, has filed for a safeguard procedure due to financial difficulties, the creative duo are said to have left the brand, according to sources quoted by the American magazine WWD. The company is hiding behind a "no comment."

Appointed as Trussardi's creative directors in May 2021, the two designers, who are behind the Berlin-based independent label GmbH, have only presented two shows for the house in 2022, unveiling their latest collection at a presentation in February.

They have rejuvenated and modernised the label's image, helping to redesign its historic building in the heart of Milan, near the famous La Scala opera house, which houses the brand's headquarters and showroom, as well as its flagship shop, a restaurant and a café.

Positioned in the accessible luxury segment, the Italian house saw its situation get worse at the beginning of the year, forcing it to file for the Italian equivalent of a safeguard procedure. This procedure, known as "crisis recovery", allows companies in difficulty to preserve their operational capacity by calling on an external expert to reorganise the company and negotiate a debt rescheduling with creditors.

The aim is to rationalise and reorganise the company with a view to a possible sale. According to market rumours, three to five takeover candidates have already come forward.
