True Religion welcomes new CEO following acquisition by TowerBrook Capital Partners

True Religion has announced the appointment of David Conn as chief executive officer, effective immediately, following the recent closure of a takeover deal led by TowerBrook Captial Partners which brings the company private. He takes over from Lynne Koplin who was filling the role in the interim. Koplin will transition to the role of chief merchandising officer.

David Conn joins the American denim brand from VF Corporation where he held the position of president of retail licensed brands. Conn also served as executive vice president at the Iconix Brand Group.

Andrew Rolfe, chairman of the board of True Religion and managing director of TowerBrook, commented, “I am pleased to welcome David as the new chief executive officer of True Religion. The team we’ve brought together, led by David’s strong leadership and vision, will enable True Religion to accelerate its growth and realize its potential, both in the U.S. and internationally.”

TowerBrook Capital Partners, a New York and London-based investment management firm, recently closed a takeover bid on True Religion for $32 per share in a transaction valued at approximately $824 million.
