London commuters will see a host of new retail concepts and experiences at Old Street station this 2016 as TFL launches a series of festivals to promote it as a retail destination. Beginning with a Health and Wellbeing Festival, the pop-up units will be curated by Appear Here, the largest online marketplace for short-term retail space.

The project is part of TFL’s plans to generate £3.4 billion in non-fares revenue over the next decade to reinvest into maintaining and modernising the transport network.

Justin Brand, Director of Commercial Asset Management at TfL, said: "Since we launched Old Street Tube station as our pop-up retail destination, over 200 retailers have set up shop there, bringing some fantastic services and products to the 23 million people who use the station each year.”

In April 2014, Transport For London launched Old Street station as its first pop-up retail destination, where retailers such as American Eagle, Microsoft, Jamie Oliver and innovative small independents, such as Sourced Market, Propercorn and Press London have taken up residency.

The Health and Wellbeing Festival will kick off this January with retailers including Move Your Frame, Two Chicks, Rebel Kitchen and Pollen & Grace.
