Tous appoints Carlos Soler-Duffo as new CEO

Spanish jewellery and accessories brand Tous has promoted its sales director Carlos Soler-Duffo to the role of CEO. The executive will replace José Maria Folache, who has led the company since 2012.

Soler-Duffo's appointment comes after 7 years working at the company, a period during which he demonstrated a "great capacity to achieve business objectives, while also aligning them with the company's strategic plan." Company president Alba Tous further explained that he wanted to emphasise his "strong belief in the talent and strength of the team."

The recently appointed CEO has a degree in Administration and Business Management, as well as an MBA from Barcelona's ESADE Business School. Before joining Tous, which is based in the Catalan city of Manresa, Soler-Duffo worked at a range of companies including L'Oréal, Santander and AS Watson Luxury, having notably served as managing director of the Punt Roma brand from 2009 to 2012. In a press release, the executive stated that he will "continue to work towards accomplishing the strategic business plan established in order to strengthen the company's position as a leading global jewellery and accessories brand in the accessible luxury segment."

Tous has therefore bid farewell to its CEO since 2012, José Maria Folache, "following a year in which exceptional results were achieved, in line with the company's strategic plan." Industry sources suggest that the executive will go on to fill the role of CEO at Parfois. When contacted by FashionNetwork.com, the Portuguese brand did not wish to comment on the rumours. 

Tous, of which Swiss investment fund Partners Group has owned 25% since 2015, reported 446 million euros in sales in 2017, a 10.6% increase compared to the prior year. The company, which celebrates its centenary in 2020, is present in more than 50 countries through a retail network of 700 stores.
