Topshop teamed up with Barclaycard to create the items, which all contain a small bPay contactless chip linked to a secure digital wallet. It lets customers shop anywhere they see the contactless symbol and is available to anyone with a UK-registered Visa debit or credit card, not just Barclaycard and Barclays customers.

The first accessories collection features a bold monster fish print and will be available in selected Topshop stores and online at Topshop.com from 17th November 2015. Later this year, Topshop and bPay are also launching a luxe metal and snake effect design.

Tami Hargreaves, Commercial Director, Digital Consumer Payments at Barclaycard, said: “This is a really exciting partnership with Topshop and marks the first time that our bPay chip is being incorporated into a product range from a major fashion retailer.

“The collaboration shows how the worlds of fashion and technology can combine to  create a stylish and easy new way for people to pay using contactless, for everyday things – be it a morning coffee, a new lipstick or a bus trip across town.”
