New York (EFE) .- Fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger presents his spring offerings in New York, a cool and sexy collection that reflects the best from his brand over the last 25-years which he aims to pursue until the end.

"This is my name, my brand and I'm not going anywhere. I'm here to stay," Hilfiger said in an interview with EFE in New York, where this year’s Fashion Week highlighted and where he planned a big party to celebrate a quarter century of success for his company.

The 59 year old New Yorker showed his determination to remain at the head of his brand for as long as his health permits, although this year the group was sold to Phillips-Van Heusen (PVH), another owner of big names in American fashion such as Calvin Klein.

"I sold it to a large corporation. They have much more strength and power in the world of fashion, so this gives us even more power, but I'm staying here," said the creator, who updated the classic and elegant American fashion with the brand that was founded in 1985.

A quarter century later, Hilfiger is determined to continue creating and bringing its unmistakable "American Style" to a "wider" audience, a task that allows you to "do something new and evolve, in a time where fashion is global", he said.

"These 25 years have been fantastic, really the best time of my life, but I think that it may have gone too quickly; and now on Monday morning, we'll look in the mirror and ask ourselves what we can do in the next 25 years," said the designer.

For now, Hilfiger is presenting this Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, almost fifty male and female models, whom are included in his vision for spring-summer 2011 fashion, a collection that celebrates "the heritage" which represents Tommy Hilfiger.

"We're now more excited than in previous collections, because this time we have created a combination of pieces gathered from the last 25 years," he talked about his collection that returns to show off his taste for red, white and blue and his love for the "preppy look", two features that "would never go out."

Some designs are presented that give women “fresh, sexy touch with roomy, comfortable clothing that are mixed with 'country' and 'rock and roll', "leading to a "young, fresh, strong style with a touch of glamour, "said Hilfiger, who also offers a whole line of accessories including high-heeled shoes.

"We are 'red, white and blue' and this time we’re adding a touch of yellow, which makes it new," said the creator, who is also planning for spring a "male lover with classic American yet modern style.

After his show at the Lincoln Center in Manhattan, Hilfiger will hold a big party with the well-known rock band The Strokes playing, entertaining many familiar faces including Hilfiger’s “good friend” Rafael Nadal.
