Tofs, the Original Factor Shop, has announced the appointment of Emma Fox as its new chief executive officer following the departure of Tony Page earlier in March.

Fox joins the off-price retail on 30 August from Halfords Group, where she was most recently commercial director – a role that she held for three and a half years from August 2013. She is credited with helping drive Halford’s turnaround, delivering strong profitable sales growth across all channels through a highly customer focused strategy.

Prior to Halfords, Fox served as chief marketing officer at Walmart Canada, where she drove a successful customer focused agenda for the business, increasing market share in a competitive market place.

Her CV also includes several senior commercial roles at Asda from 1999 to 2011.

Fox’s appointment follows the resignation of Tony Page after only three years at the helm to pursue new opportunities. With 217 stores operating in local markets, Tofs is one of the fastest growing retailers in the UK, providing access to well-known brands at heavily discounted prices.

Commenting on her appointment, chairman Alistair McGeorge said: “The board is delighted to welcome Emma as the new Chief Executive of Tofs. There is no doubt that she is well suited to the role with her extensive retail and commercial experience from a range of retail groups and has many exciting ideas to take Tofs forward. We look forward to working with her to help deliver growth from the solid foundations that have been established.”
