In 2018, Thermore developed a highly innovative range of thermal insulation for apparel made with 100% recycled polyester fibres derived from plastic bottles. The company, founded in Italy in 1972 by Lucio Siniscalchi under the name Fi.Si, has always been confident of the growth opportunities for its products in the sportswear, fashion and outdoor apparel sectors, and in 2019 it invested in a factory in Asia, to increase output and broaden the range. This strategy has now translated into the launch of two new products in Thermore’s Ecodown range: Ecodown Fibers Light and Ecodown Fibers 2.0.

EcodownFibers 2.0 - Thermore

The first is a blow-in insulation fibre which “delivers an extremely soft yet ultra-light free fibre insulation that is 20% warmer than comparable products,” as Thermore stated in a press release.

The second product, Ecodown Fibers 2.0, is a blend of sustainably-sourced fibres with an ultra-puffy effect, capable of generating “wider baffle widths, of up to 20cm,” and is targeted to fashion and sportswear labels that are looking to create oversize volumes.

“The Ecodown Fibers range has been extended to respond to the specific needs of different markets,” said a spokesperson for Thermore.

Thermore is specialised in thermal insulation for fashion and sports apparel, and manufactures its products in Asia and Europe. It is a member of the Outdoor Industry Association, of SnowSports Industries America and of the Italian Fashion Chamber (CNMI). Thermore, with headquarters in Milan and offices in Hong Kong, did not disclose its revenue or number of clients.
