The Square Tallaght put on the market for €233m

The Square Tallaght, one of Ireland’s largest shopping and leisure destinations, has been put for sale by joint agents Cushman & Wakefield and JLL for €233 million, below the previously expected €300 million.

The Dublin shopping mall spreads over 577,500 sq ft of space across three floors, and is anchored by Tesco, Debenhams and Dunnes Stores. It was visited by 22 million people last year.

In total, there are 160 retail units at the centre, with other key tenants including H&M, River Island, Shoe Zone, Clarks, Debenhams, New Look and JD Sports.

The new owners would take control of 118 retail units, a 13-screen cinema and get a controlling stake in the centre’s management company.

The 27-year old retail destination was the largest in Ireland when it opened in 1990 and has been recently granted permission for a major redevelopment. If the extension plans proceed, the shopping centre would receive a 65,000 sq ft department store and an additional eight retail units, as well as a new 59,470 sq ft single-level unit in the southern part.
