The Hut Group has said people who have lost their jobs as a result of the coronavirus epidemic are particularly welcome to apply for new jobs at its manufacturing and distribution sites in the UK, US and Poland.

About 500 new job vacancies are being created to support a surge in demand for health, beauty and nutrition products across the group’s portfolio of brands in recent weeks.

The company, which owns Myprotein.com and Lookfantastic.com, said the plans to recruit over 500 new employees have been brought forward to support people affected by the global crisis.

Some 350 new roles will be created at the company’s manufacturing and fulfilment centre in Warrington, Cheshire, and the remaining 150 will be created at its manufacturing and distribution sites in Wroclaw, Poland and Kentucky, USA. More jobs could be added to this should the increased demand for THG’s health and beauty brands continue.

Matthew Moulding, chief executive officer, said: “Some of the region’s biggest employers have had to make incredibly tough decisions in recent days, leaving a worrying number of people out of work at such a vulnerable time.

“Our message to those affected is that we will look to do whatever we can to help, and so we are bringing forward our recruitment plans. We are now hiring across our manufacturing and logistics sites with immediate effect. We need you and would be thrilled to provide you with a new opportunity at this incredibly challenging time.”

The announcement reveals that the group, which owns online brands, is in a better position to survive the impact of the global health emergency than its more traditional counterparts.

Additionally, it said it has seen “record demand” for its technology and operating platform, and that further opportunities will be announced in this area soon.
